IT'S D DAY!!

This is my first time doing Community Service work and it was an experience that everyone should have!

My group leader and I are the representatives from our group to come and volunteer for this last phase of renovation.

We came to campus at 8 AM to finish wrapping and loading all the books into cars.

Reached there at 11AM and started to help around

Our first task was to help build the shelves and other furnitures that we got from IKEA, it was such a fun experience as it was my first time building all this things and it is something to learn as in the future I will have to deal with these anyways.

The screws and joints and hammers...

We had to help around first since the renovation inside was still going on so we had to wait until they were done...

The furniture building was guided along by some seniors and they were really nice, I think we just made some friends that will help us along the way!

SEMESTER 6 SENIORS ARE THE BEST

Interior painting by group 1

It was already around 5PM when they were done painting the interiors and we can finally move in all the furnitures. We had our seniors and guys help us carry everything inside while me and Sula, my group leader help clean the bottom of each furnitures as it was placed outside before.

We also swept the interior to make sure that everything is clean.

Then, it was time to arrange the furnitures around the library, the shelves, the tables, chairs, whiteboard and beanbags.

Next, we unboxed all the books after the shelves are arranged nicely.

We arranged and placed all the books according to the coding system and it was really fun for me as all the books seems really interesting.

I hope the Orang Asli kids would also have the same interest as I do!

After all the sorting and finalised arrangement we can finally end the day and go home! It was already 9PM by the time we were done, way later than the time we were supposed to finish, but it was such a fun experience for me and I feel really good for doing this.

EXTRA: on our way home we followed this senior's car and we had some trouble on our way back, we were stuck on the. highway for more than 2 hours because apparently we put in the wrong fuel in the car so the tow truck and panic was involved all in one day!!

As I said it was an experience!!

LAUNCHING DAY : 22ND of JUNE 2019

We arrived there at 11PM as we had to still sort out some extra books and rearrange the furnitures for the launching day, we swept the floor and cleaned out the book shelfs as some of it had gotten ceiling dust on it.

Set up for Launching day

I was also given the usher job to welcome all the guests from Yayasan Salam which is the Organisation that is incharge of this library.

After the event is done it was finally time to cut the ribbon to finalise the Launching Day!!

It was the day to celebrate all the hard work and effort put in by everyone but alas, only me and Sula, my group leader was there as a representative from our group.

AND IT'S A WRAP!!
