PROJECT 2
Research in Asian Architecture
Kawana house is a fusion of two traditions; the Japanese love of harmony and respect for nature and the western refinement of a dematerialized architecture of steel and glass. It is situated on a dramatic stretch of volcanic coastline where long, out-of-reach fingers of lava reach into Sagami Bay with mount Fuji hovering in the background. the house is placed on a raised platform so that the main living areas have uninterrupted views of the sea
